The Interim Executive Committee of the SOSA successfully held a strategic meeting on Sunday, 17th May 2026, at Swedru Seventh Day Adventist Senior High School as part of efforts to rebuild, restructure, and reposition the association for greater impact and sustainability.

The meeting brought together interim executives, advisory representation, and committed members of the association to deliberate on the future direction of SOSA and its role in supporting the growth and development of the school and its alumni community.

The gathering opened with prayers, scripture readings, and an exhortation focused on unity, teamwork, and collective leadership. Members were encouraged to work together harmoniously and ensure inclusiveness in the rebuilding process of the association.

During the strategic session, the President, Ebenezer Essuman, presented a historical overview of SOSA, tracing its establishment in 2008, subsequent periods of inactivity, and efforts made over the years toward sustaining the association and supporting the school community.

The meeting identified several challenges currently facing the association, including:

Low member engagement

Weak communication structures

Leadership gaps

Financial constraints

In response, members proposed strategic measures aimed at transforming SOSA into a vibrant and impactful alumni network. Key priorities discussed included:

Building a comprehensive alumni database and website

Strengthening digital communication systems

Increasing participation from all year groups

Establishing mentorship and scholarship programs

Organizing networking and recognition events

Promoting financial sustainability through dues, fundraising, and sponsorships

The meeting also emphasized the importance of digital transformation and modern communication systems to improve engagement among members locally and abroad.

As part of the day’s activities, the executives met with the Headmaster and members of the school administration. The Headmaster commended the progress of the school in both academics and sports but highlighted pressing challenges, particularly infrastructure deficits and transportation difficulties.

The executives were subsequently taken on an inspection tour of ongoing and stalled projects, farming activities, and facilities requiring urgent renovation, including the library and ICT center.

Following deliberations, the association officially confirmed and allocated executive positions and also inaugurated several operational committees, including:

Legal/Constitution Review Committee

Welfare Committee

Project/Membership Drive Committee

Event Committee

Financial/Fundraising Committee

Communication/PR Committee

The Interim Executive Committee reaffirmed its commitment to building a united, active, and development-oriented alumni association capable of contributing meaningfully to the advancement of Swedru Seventh Day Adventist Senior High School.

The meeting concluded successfully at 2:10 PM with renewed commitment from members toward strengthening SOSA and fostering lasting impact within the school community and beyond.
